The workshop will be a forum for novice and experienced research ethics instructors to hone their skills.  Activities will include an opening presentation on the current state of research ethics education in universities, opportunities for participants to present their own ethics education resources to peers and receive feedback, a luncheon panel on new and updated online resources for teaching research integrity, and an interactive session on teaching research ethics through mentoring with checklists and individual development plans (IDPs).

The Research Ethics & Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Special Interest Section (SIS), Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) SIS, and the Online Ethics Center’s Life and Environmental Sciences Section will co-host the workshop.

Call for Resources
The Online Ethics Center’s Life and Environmental Sciences Section, workshop co-sponsor, invites individuals to prepare a RCR or STEM ethics education resource, refine it though discussion at the workshop, and then submit it to the Online Ethics Center for possible inclusion in the Center’s collection.  Awards of $500 will be made for partial reimbursement of travel expenses for up to nine participants who submit life or environmental science resources for the discussion rounds and also submit them to the Online Ethics Center ( after the workshop.
